BRANDING / DESIGN
Branding and logo creation are two things I absolutely love. When I sit down in front of a blank illustrator document, I generally just start making logos and marks. It’s a tremendously fun challenge to create an image or system that helps identify a body of work and services. I like solid, strong marks that retain flexibility and meaning. Here is a small collection of some of the logos I have undertaken.
VIDEOGRAPHY / DESIGN
Video is a powerful tool that I enjoy using. It is a powerful way to tell a story, communicate vision, and establish a partnership. Here are a few videos that I have crafted, filmed, and edited. In all cases these were team efforts, but I have only included a small selection of edits and products I was personally responsible for. These were used to tell stories of individuals, communicate vision for organizations, and set the scene for special events and services.
I’ve had a camera in my hand since High School. I don’t like to travel without one. I’ve seen the world through a camera lens. I really wouldn’t have it any other way. I find it helpful to not only document what I’ve seen but capture assets that I need to create designs, branding packages, stock photos, motion graphics, and marketing pieces.

GRAPHIC DESIGN / BRANDING / ILLUSTRATION
One of the graphic design project that I’ve consistently undertaken for years is branding teaching series for various churches. These pieces are made to accompany multi-week long teaching sessions and are reformatted to use in multiple places; large screens, social media, print media, email and web graphics, etc… Similar to the “Rough Crowd” project above, these pieces are often accompanied by custom videos and motion graphics developed by a larger creative team. Here are few of the branding pieces that I’ve made over the years for teaching series.

Gavox is a Belgian brand of high-performance timepieces designed and manufactured for professionals. Over the years I have been a user of Gavox watches every day. They accompany me to the office, across town, and to locations around the globe. The are reliable, elegant, and unique.
Many years after purchasing my first Gavox, I received the opportunity to design casebacks for a new line of watches called “Gavox Roads.” These watches are crafted to celebrate driving on the most beautiful and interesting roads in the world. Together, we came up with caseback designs that would capture the essence of driving on three beautiful concourses: The Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway, The Pacific Coast Highway in California, and the Icefields Parkway in Canada.
Each design was crafted with care and clarity and contained not only an illustration, but also key locations along the journey and information about the road itself. These watches are limited to 100 pieces each and can be found at Gavox.com.
In addition to the casebacks, custom patches and graphics were made to celebrate to the watches as individual pieces and as a collection.
Other projects for Gavox have included designing custom rotor engravings for the Legacy Power Reserve Watches: Carpe Diem and Ultima Necat.

GRAPHIC DESIGN / TYPOGRAPHY
Travel Type is a self-initiated ongoing project that combines two of my passions: travel and typography. This project explores the possibility of expressing the character of a place with custom type, letterforms, and color.
PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOGRAPHY / COMMUNICATION
One of my great passions is travel. In the spring of 2017 I was fortunate enough to visit Afghanistan in partnership with Flatirons Community Church and Sozo International. Over the time frame of one week, I was part of a two man video crew that documented the work of Sozo International in parts of Kabul and in refugee camps outside the city. At the end of the trip, we provided Sozo International with videos and photography for fundraising and awareness building campaigns.
GRAPHIC DESIGN / ILLUSTRATION / PRODUCTION
Beyond making things out of pixels, I enjoy actually making things. After returning from Spain a few years ago, I decided to commemorate my long distance hike to Santiago De Compostela by making a collection of items. I designed some pins, patches, and stickers to serve as physical reminders of an incredible time. Other pilgrims have sought these items out as well over time.
As my travels continued, so did the things I made. Now, beyond pins about Spain I’ve made other physical goods for other great places around the world I’ve been fortunate enough to visit. The list will continue to grow.

This Day In History was a self-initiated project where I illustrated a historical event each day for a year in a predetermined color palette and style. All graphics were created in Adobe Illustrator and compiled into a one minute video at the end of the year. Here is a sample. More can be seen on my Instagram.
